VAM Systems is currently looking for Fiber Optics Structured Cabling Technician for our Qatar operations with the following skill set and terms and conditions:
Skill Set required:
The last recent 2 to 3 years in same field.
Working in Oil and Gas facilities
Knowledge in Oil and Gas safety hazard standard for electronic device such as ATEX standard, EIC Flame Retardant and Fire Resistance standard, IS equipment etc.
Basic Role:
Hands-on experience in structured cabling and basic trucking requirements
Install and/or repair cables for network/UTPs, TV, telephones and basic electrical cables.
Pulling, extending, terminating and splicing fiber optic cables
Maintain connectivity availability by periodic check of cabling infrastructure for Data, Voice and Video services and to keep it on high performance, good continuity and reliability.
Handling daily routine issues:
Delivering new or replacement of old cables to end users (Data Patch, Audio and Video cables).
Re-arrange and modify existing cable management (Patch Panel, IDF, Wall socket) for better quality and safety. This includes Audio and Video cable in meeting rooms.
Perform measurement tests for fiber optic, horizontal data cabling and multi-pair cable as part of cabling trouble shooting and new installation commissioning.
Inspect and clean fiber optic equipment, cables, bulkheads, adapters, and terminals.
Working in indoor and outdoor conditions to perform the tasks
Maintains accurate record and up to date vertical and horizontal cablings on site tag number and documents.

Organizing and directing staff/team work and coordinating such activities to a successful conclusion. 5. Frequent contact to exchange information with all levels of line, regional and corporate management, as well as external relationships. 6. Review, evaluate, recommend changes and/or develop and implement new programs as requirements and customer needs change. 7. Analyze operational indicators to improve company performance. 8. Take a proactive role in communicating with the clients and meeting their needs; meet with regularly, listen to issues, provide security and technical expertise and solutions to ensure complete client satisfaction. 9. Background in reviewing and submitting tender related quotes. 10. Ensure that security plans are implemented, updated, revised and tested on a regular basis. 11. Make regular recommendations leading to a state of continuous improvement and constant security enhancement. 12. Ensure that QSS Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) are followed at all times. 13. Conduct effective performance evaluations and mentor personnel through formal channels. Experience: - Total Exp. Of 07 to 10 years “Security Operations†with minimum 05 years in managerial level in a big structure security companies. (2000 to 3000 employees) - Gulf experience & license is Must.
