Surveyor Qatar

The Senior Highway Surveyor will be providing all necessary assistance to the construction supervision team with respect to all surveying works and quantity measurement aspects for the project. The Senior Highway Surveyor is the leader of the land surveyors team assigned for each discipline under the respective Resident Engineer.

Job Responsibilities
Advice the SRE and RE’s and recommend actions concerning construction surveys.
Maintain the construction surveys and quantity records.
Direct the initial baseline and control surveys including establishment of bench marks and recovery of any existing survey monuments to be removed at the start of the project.
Supervise and direct the field survey parties to comply with the Contractor’s request for surveys, including the checking of the Contractor’s setting out of centrelines, structures, slope stakes, etc.
Check the field measurement surveys including original and final cross sections, check critical elevations, dimensions and locations of structural elements, earthwork grading, pavement and appurtenances, check the Contractor’s detailed survey in advance of construction operations, investigate and clarify survey discrepancies.
Establish the format and standard procedures for calculation and documentation of quantities.
Conduct training in the use of modern survey equipment.
Supervise the maintenance of the equipment and involve in the calibration and checking of the survey instruments.
Coordinate and schedule all survey works to serve all disciplines as required by the different RE’s.
Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.
Ensure quality goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of quality procedures on the road works.
Involve in the as-built review and finalization in coordination with RE’s, site engineers, land surveyors and inspectors.
Skills

BSc Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Min of 10 demonstrable experience in land/highway surveying on major road, highway and general infrastructure projects preferably in the Gulf region.

The Project

Our client has been appointed as lead PM/CM supervision consultant on a hugely prestigious 440,000m² mixed-use development in Qatar. The Roles

The Site Manager will serve as a Representative under PM/ CM contract in all matters related to management of construction time, cost and quality. Also perform administrative & specialized technical work in reviewing and coordinating approvals of documents related to professional consultant services and capital construction projects. Lead a team of inspectors to ensure Schedule, Quality and Safety are upheld and delivered on site.

Key duties include;

Overseeing the administration of the project during the construction cycle including; technical, financial and client satisfaction
Accountable for the development, co-ordination and execution of the planning, design and/or construction activities and personnel under his/her direction on a day to day basis
Developing procedures for monitoring the progression of planning, design and construction phases
Preparing reports for company management and the Client indicating project adherence and progress
Oversee contractors to ensure compliance with project plan and specifications
Monitor quality of work by contractors and quality of material used on site
Management of Contract and subcontract packages.
Lead and manage a team of engineers and inspectors on the project
When required represent the business and interface with public and regulatory officials
Train, mentor and development staff
Responsible for the safe execution of construction, by all personnel on site.
Monitor the contractor's progress and prepare progress reports on a monthly basis to the Client.
Participate in the final inspection of the work with the Consultant and Client. Monitor final completion of the work. Recommend acceptance of the completed work to Client after receiving the same from the Consultant.
Enforce the provisions of the contract documents during the contractors' warrantee period
