Job Description

 Contribute to the mines development and ensure effective cascading of departmental strategy into the assigned production section’s policies and procedures in line with the overall business objectives of the company. People Management  Manage the effective achievement of objectives through setting individual objectives, managing performance, developing and motivating staff, provision of formal and informal feedback and appraisal in order to maximize subordinate and the overall performance.  Assist in the training of production personnel in accordance with the training programs produced by the HR department in order to achieve advances skill levels within the section Organization Structure  Support the Production Manager in defining an optimum departmental structure so that resources are optimally utilized and communication can take place in an efficient manner. Budgets and Plans  Prepare the budget for the Mines section and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/revenues, and areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, rectified promptly and potential performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon. Planning of Operations  Develop and seek approval for the annual and monthly mines development schedule i.e. Blasting days ensuring alignment to the annual production plan and control the implementation of schedule as per set timelines, HSE and quality standards.  Prepare detailed instructions for necessary work to be carried out by subordinates to ensure timely completion of tasks as per defined operating procedures
